Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Marina has degrees in Fine Arts and Graphic Design from the University of Buenos Aires. She has studied with well-known calligraphers such as Thomas Ingmire, Brody Neuenschwander, Ewan Clayton and Monica Dengo, amongst others. Marina has received national and international awards and exhibited her work in Argentina, Uruguay, USA, Spain, Japan, Germany, Russia and Norway. She has been published in many specialized magazines, including LAR Issue 26:13.
In 1997 she founded the first calligraphic guild in South America, “Calígrafos de la Cruz del Sur” (Southern Cross Calligraphers). Marina presently works as an experimental calligrapher and artist and continues to teach in her studio and abroad. Her main interest is to mingle and blend diverse disciplines: art, textile art, graphic design, sumi-e and calligraphy to challenge the limits of conceptual art and technique. Her strength lies in her creativity.
