We’re offering an excursion that includes a visit to the Abbey of Saint-Benoît-du-Lac, a tasting at the vineyard Cep d'Argent, Magog, a dinner at the Microbrasserie Coaticook and a frozen dessert at the Cremerie de Coaticook. The departure from Bishop's University will be at 12:45 pm
A guided tour of 1 hour 30 minutes to admire the beauty of this place of peace, silence and prayer. Learn about monastic life, admire the architectural ensemble of the Abbey, a work of unique beauty and understand how the monks support the needs of the community.
Built on a hill, the religious building dominates Lake Memphremagog like a castle with turrets and stone walls. The view from the roof terrace is striking. The tour ends with a stop at the Abbey's shop.
Around 3:45 pm, we will head to Le Cep d'Argent vineyard in Magog for a tasting: ice wine, fortified wine, sparkling wine, red wine, white wine, and rosé; a choice for all tastes! Its refined and high-quality wines are acclaimed by sommeliers and the press. The 114-acre estate and 60,000 vines offer exceptional views of Lake Magog.
To end our day, we propose a casual dinner at the Coaticook Microbrewery, where you can choose from their wide selection of famous craft beers. Just in front of the microbrewery, for those who want a frozen treat, you will be able to enjoy the delicious Coaticook ice cream; one can even get their famous cheese curds.
–Price: $ 50 (including coach transportation, visit to the Abbey and tasting at the vineyard; dinner and ice cream are at your own expense)
–Seats are limited (we will draw up a waiting list in the event of a large demand)
