The beauty of having a sampling is that you then know what you really want to dig into. This class offers two samplings: five yummy paper decorating techniques and five equally enticing book forms made with the papers. This is a week filled with explorations that will get your creative juices flowing, build new skills and set the stage for new artistic journeys. Whether you are new to paper decorating and bookbinding or wanting to expand your repertoire, this class is the perfect place to start. All consumable materials and paper will be provided with your supply fee and the tools required to bring are basic.

  • Self-healing cutting mat (9” x 12” or slightly larger)
  • Scalpel or X-Acto knife, extra #11 blades
  • Scissors (regular and fine)
  • Omnigrid© Quilter’s Ruler (6” x 12” size highly recommended)
  • Metal ruler with cork back (12”-18”)
  • Mechanical pencil
  • White eraser
  • Kneadable eraser
  • White ceramic/quilter’s mechanical pencil
  • Bone folder
  • Bookbinding awl
  • Fresh glue stick
  • 1” foam brush
  • Small selection of calligraphic mark making tools
  • Apron
  • Non-latex gloves (optional)

The supply fee will cover papers, paints, inks, binding threads etc.
